About Us
Why we opened a wine shop
dedicated to the Canary Islands
My grandfather was a deep-sea fisherman who sailed the world's oceans.
There was one place he spoke of again and again.
"The best place in the world."
That place was the Canary Islands.
Years later, as if to verify the meaning behind his words, I visited the Canary Islands, spent time on the islands, and discovered wines deeply rooted in the land.
Volcanic earth, ocean winds, and the human hand.
Far removed from mass production, the wines made by small producers
each reflected the time and stories of their terroir.
To reach for a wine from the Canary Islands — that is the beginning of a small adventure.
Before setting sail for the New World, Columbus called at the Canary Islands
and loaded his ships with the islands' wine.
In Shakespeare's plays it was called "Canary" —
a wine that captivated the Europe of the Age of Discovery.
Five hundred years on, these wines, shaped by volcanic earth and ocean breeze,
still beckon you with every glass toward islands yet to be discovered.
