Canary Islands Wine Specialist
The Canary Islands — Spain's westernmost archipelago, adrift in the Atlantic.
Volcanic soils, ungrafted vines, centuries of tradition.
We are Japan's only specialist dedicated to these wines.
Why Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are one of the most extraordinary wine regions in the world. Isolated in the Atlantic Ocean, these islands were never reached by phylloxera — the vine plague that devastated European vineyards in the 19th century. Here, ungrafted vines still grow on their own roots in volcanic soil, as they have for centuries.
Each island has its own distinct terroir. Indigenous grape varieties found nowhere else on earth. Traditional cultivation methods recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage. These are wines that most of the world has yet to discover.
Phylloxera never reached the islands. Original, ungrafted vines — some over 200 years old — still thrive here. A living rarity.
Lava, volcanic ash, ocean winds. The mineral-rich soils create wines with a distinctive character found nowhere else.
Listán Blanco, Malvasía Volcánica, Listán Negro — grape varieties unique to these islands, carrying centuries of history.
The Islands
Seven islands in the Atlantic, west of Africa. Politically part of Spain, yet culturally distinct from both Europe and Africa. Blessed with a climate known as "eternal spring," each island differs dramatically in altitude, geography, and soil — giving rise to an astonishing diversity of wines.
Our Mission
We are Japan's first and only business dedicated entirely to wines from the Canary Islands. We work directly with the islands' producers to share their craft and terroir with Japanese consumers.
